It feels subjectively \u2018magnetic\u2019, but is <strong>Intermittent reward<\/strong> (periods of intense closeness) and <strong>sporadic injury<\/strong> (depreciation, <span data-wikipedia-preview=\"\" data-wp-title=\"Gaslighting\" data-wp-lang=\"de\" class=\"wmf-wp-with-preview\">Gaslighting<\/span>, withdrawal) neurobiologically \u2018wired\u2019. When a person is strong <strong>Fear of abandonment<\/strong> (often with borderline patterns) and the other <strong>Control\/superiority needs<\/strong> (often with narcissistic patterns) creates a cycle that entangles both: Proximity\u2013pain\u2013reconciliation\u2013hope\u2013relapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This article explains the concept in a comprehensible way, shows <strong>typical dialogue and everyday scenes<\/strong>, <strong>Warning signs<\/strong>, <strong>Skill-based countermeasures (<span data-wikipedia-preview=\"\" data-wp-title=\"Dialektisch-Behaviorale Therapie\" data-wp-lang=\"de\" class=\"wmf-wp-with-preview\">DBT<\/span>)<\/strong> and <strong>Exit steps<\/strong> including security planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> In this text, I deliberately use wordings such as <em>\u2018narcissistic patterns\u2019<\/em> or <em>\u2018Human with narcissistic features\u2019<\/em> instead of flat-rate <em>\u2018Narcissist\u2019<\/em>. The same applies to <em>Borderline pattern<\/em>. Diagnosis belongs in the hands of professionals; In everyday life, however, we encounter behaviors and dynamics that are so called. The aim of this article is education, de-stigmatisation and practical help \u2013 not remote diagnosis.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) What is trauma bonding?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Working definition:<\/strong> An emotionally and physiologically enhanced attachment to a person who repeatedly hurts, devalues or frightens us. <strong>Just because of<\/strong> the interplay of pain and comforting affection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.1 Neurobiology in three sentences<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>dopamine<\/strong> Responds strongly to <strong>Variable reward<\/strong> (once a gift, once a withdrawal) \u2013 that's what the relationship is about <em>unpredictable<\/em> and therefore <em>particularly captivating<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cortisol\/adrenaline<\/strong> increase alertness; <strong>Oxytocin<\/strong> It then \u2018sticks\u2019 particularly strongly during periods of reconciliation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The nervous system learns: \u2018If only I <em>enough<\/em> make\/love\/stay, the closeness comes back.\u201d \u2192 <strong>Addiction-like loop<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.2 The cycle (classic in four phases)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Idealisation\/<span data-wikipedia-preview=\"\" data-wp-title=\"Love Bombing\" data-wp-lang=\"de\" class=\"wmf-wp-with-preview\">Love bombing<\/span><\/strong>: Excessive attention, \u2018You are the only one\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Voltage build-up<\/strong>: Criticism, small stings, subtle disrespect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Devaluation\/exploit<\/strong>: Gaslighting, silence, threats, reversal of guilt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reconciliation\/Honeymoon<\/strong>: Repentance gestures, kisses, gifts, big promises \u2013 <em>\u2018Everything will be different this time.\u2019<\/em><br>\u2192 And again from the front.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3) Why the combo borderline &amp; narcissistic pattern is so susceptible<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every BPD\/narcissism constellation leads to trauma bonding. Every escalation cements the bond.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4) As it is <strong>concretely<\/strong> feels \u2013 everyday scenes (examples)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Example A: WhatsApp ping pong (intermittent amplification)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Day 1, 11:41 PM<\/strong> \u2013 <em>\u201cYou are the only one who really understands me.\u201d<\/em> (heart, near)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Day 2<\/strong> \u2013 Blue checkmark, no reply.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Day 3, 2:17 a.m.<\/strong> \u2013 <em>\u2018You're exaggerating again, chill.\u2019<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Day 4, 6:05 PM<\/strong> \u2013 <em>\u201cSorry, lots of things going on. I love you. Cooking big tomorrow?\u2019<\/em><br>\u2192 <strong>Reward\/withdrawal<\/strong> It raises the expectation: <em>\"Maybe tomorrow will be good again?\"<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Example B: \"Excuse me\" with reversal of guilt<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>\u201cI screwed up, BUT you're so sensitive. If you were more relaxed, we wouldn't have the problem.\u201d<\/em><br>Short confession of guilt, then <strong>Frame rotation<\/strong> The person concerned assumes responsibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Example C: Border test in the circle of friends<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Partner flirts demonstratively at a party; later: <em>\u201cI was just having fun. You are embarrassingly jealous.\u2019<\/em><br>\u2192 <strong>Gaslighting<\/strong> + <strong>Schamin reduction<\/strong> Affected person doubts his own perception.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Example D: Borderline trigger meets power game<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Affected person asks for feedback: <em>\u201cPlease let me know if you come later \u2013 otherwise I will panic.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Answer: <em>\u201cYour drama is annoying. The longer you stay, the stronger the loop anchors.
