family

‘A tree without roots – a person without a family.’
Till Brendel *1988 Student and hobby aphorist

In the last weeks and months. No one can even say last year, I have made a lot of thoughts around the topic of family.

I can say that family with one of the most important things is that we have as social beings. And family has a special meaning for us, because it is the innermost and the narrowest circle in our society.

Strangely enough, in today's world, where distances and circumstances force us to live on different continents, family always has a special meaning.

I have kinship in England and even if I see them very rarely. Or even communicate with them extremely rarely, whether over the phone or over the Internet, so I often think of them and wonder how they are doing.

Luckily, one or the other of my family is active on the Internet. And so again and again small snippets of pictures or texts are washed up to me. And I can put myself a little bit into the lives of my family and my relatives.

Close connection to my family

Even if I am someone who really likes to be alone due to my borderline illness, since I can't always understand and understand human behavior, and always feel very funny in the presence of other people, I always have a close connection to my family itself to my cousins or even big cousins.

If you've been following me for a long time now, you'll know that I have and have had problems in my family from time to time. I think there will be difficult situations from time to time in the future.

Were the injury still so great, the feeling of an inner connection that always existed. And I think that makes it so hard to break up with people from the family.

Even if these people, since you love them or they are particularly valuable to someone, can also hurt you extremely, they are on the other hand always important for you. I wonder how they are doing and what they are doing.

I've seen this. Because my father kept asking about my sister and always asked if there was anything new. I wonder if I know anything, even if they haven't talked to each other in a long time. It was always there, an interest.

I think that's why family relationships aren't always the easiest. Because there is, on the one hand, this vulnerability and on the other hand, this strong bond. Even if you're still in conflict and resentment with each other, there you are.

‘How complicated and how ‘strenuous“may be family.”

In my environment, I also see time and again how complicated and how ‘extensive’ family can be. For ex-girlfriends, it was always an issue. That one did not feel loved by his mother or was loved too much by the father, even to the point of sexual assault.

For my part, I try to make the best of everything. First, there is this deep sense of togetherness and unconditional love. And on the other hand, to always be aware that only someone you really love and who is important to you can hurt you so much that it really hurts. So it's kind of a tightrope walk.

On the one hand, this can be wonderful. And on the other hand, of course, many pains and many sleepless nights and many complications. But I am willing to take this risk or this burden, because it gives and brings me a lot.

“Family is not an easy thing and always means a lot of work.”

I think family is not an easy thing and always means a lot of work. It's a kind of give and take you help yourself and you get help. And it is a matter of course that you do this. Without expecting anything in return. For me, it is natural to help others. And you also get something, a good feeling, like helping friends without the expectation that they will help you. You know they're helping you.

For me, family doesn't always mean doing beautiful things and always only experiencing funny and exciting things with the family. For me, family means being there for each other, especially in difficult times. For the principle of the family has evolved from the necessity that man alone cannot survive. It was much easier to survive in small groups where you have a special relationship, or a special closeness.

“Help without expecting anything”.

And that makes family for me. Unconditional love and help without expecting anything. But knowing that you can get help without asking.

How do you see it and what are your experiences? Write it in the comments, I would be really happy to hear your views and experiences.

Your Sasha

  1. Thank you for your great honesty and openness! Despite the bad things that have happened to you. Have YOU written a text that seeks in various (philosophically theological) ethics to moral treatises, or ~ introductions of HIS equal (I pauke actually grad” kathol. Moral Theology for Art mini VHS Studies …) BEST THANK YOU dear Sascha !

  2. Of course, it's easier than I said. Especially the present time is of course best suited to fall into a depression. And that should not be taken lightly. I have had to experience for myself that you can hardly get out of it on your own

    1. Thank you for your lovely comment.

I can only tell you about my experience and how I experienced it. Yes, there are often circumstances that make it difficult, such as the current situation there it means keeping in touch, if possible and the day structured Verbrinden and this I do very consistently. That helps me.
