In times of the Covid-19 epidemic, people who are afraid of a compulsory vaccination or any other measures that are enforced against their will are currently piling up.
I had actually planned to make a contribution on this topic much earlier. Because I have always noticed in the past how abstract some ideas are that have anti-vaccine opponents.
I can still remember a discussion when compulsory vaccination was introduced in Germany for kindergarten children. More specifically, it is about measles vaccination.
In this discussion, there has been repeated talk of vaccine damage and the most serious complications. Every time I talked to the ladies about it, these were slight flare-ups. These are, at most, side effects. And thus no serious complications or damage.
When I brought up the example that after a hepatitis A and B vaccination I myself lay flat for several days and still felt ill, this was repeatedly relativized. The example of my mother, who was vaccinated against the flu and subsequently could not move out of bed for several days because of pneumonia, because she felt very ill, was also relativized.
After all, you'd be an adult, and that wouldn't be so bad. But their children would have kept a severe vaccine damage from it.
If you look at the complications and serious vaccination damage that can occur in rare cases, these are usually meningitis or heart muscle inflammation. These may be related to measles vaccination.
It says that it can also happen that you feel sickly for a few days afterwards and can also have a fever.
Finally, with a vaccination, always a part or more or less still alive pathogens are administered, in order to strengthen and train the immune system.
I know that everything is now very simplified and strikingly presented and that there is far more than just these variants.
The discussion mostly ended with me being banned. Or that those rocks and legs keep claiming I'm just a man. I don't have kids and I don't know what I'm talking about anyway.
I'm not a virologist. I'm not a doctor either. However, I am a paramedic for the elderly and have participated in many training courses as part of these activities.
I am also a human being. A person should have common sense. And I believe that the risks of vaccination are much lower, like the complications that can arise from a simple childhood disease. Because even if the name sounds as beautiful and as cute as other childhood diseases such as mumps, rubella and chickenpox. So these diseases can have really serious complication that can affect the child and even a lifetime, if you do not even die from it.
Sometimes I feel like I really need to talk to people like that, like a toddler. So that you understand how serious the situation is. We have a remedy for viruses these fours. This is a vaccine.
Right now, in the time when the coronavirus is wreaking havoc, everyone is realizing what restrictions we have. Because we don't have a cure for this virus. We don't have a drug, and we don't have a vaccine.
I thought of all the events abroad, especially Italy and France, where conditions are still prevailing today that are anything but beautiful, which one has understood that if there is a vaccine that one should also use.
The statements that a child's immune system is so strong that you only have to expose it to the virus at a so-called measles party, and then you have lifelong immunity, is more than foolish!
I always like to compare it to a picture. You could also say that today's trauma surgery is so good that I don't have to buckle up when driving. Or that I no longer have to wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle.
At first glance, this may be a drastic comparison. But the question I ask myself is, is that really it?
If you look at what a harmless childhood illness can do to a child, if there are serious complications, then this is already comparable to a frontal collision of two cars. It doesn't happen that often. But sometimes!
And so are the complications. In children's diseases, if we take the example of measles, it is of course extremely unpleasant if a child retains a mental disability after meningitis or, in other words, a meningitis.
Yes, this can also happen with a vaccination. But this is much rarer, as with a normal measles infection.
For me, it is important if I know that there are ways and means to protect the children to comply with it. Because not doing so is as irresponsible as letting my child swim alone and unattended without him being able to do so. Because I didn't teach him and it wasn't in swimming lessons. Parents would not allow that. Why do they do it when it comes to the health of their and many other children?
This can go well, but can also have dire and sometimes sad consequences. Not only for the parents and relatives themselves who neglect this. But also for the families and their children, who cannot be vaccinated due to an immune deficiency or other diseases!
How do you see that? What are your experiences with vaccine opponents? Or are you anti-vaccine yourself? Please write your opinion in the comments. I would be very happy about that.
Your Sasha
