Success on the Internet a new edition

‘Success through achievement through success!’
Manfred Hinrich (1926 – 2015), Dr. phil., German philosopher.

Now it's been a good 2 years since I had published the text and the video unsuccessfully or successfully on the Internet and since then a lot has happened or not.

The positive thing is, it hasn't gotten worse, so in the smallest way worse I still earn as much as I did before, I have just as many video views, I basically have just as many blog visitors and the comments under the videos or under the texts haven't gotten any less.

That could be said, great is great, because you are happy about it, if you consider that it has been 24 months and I have only 20 more subscribers on YouTube and that nothing has changed in the number of views, that is already reason to think.

Unfortunately, I can not compare the numbers on the block, because I had to set up a new blog with a new address and so can no longer compare the access numbers because I can not fall back on the awareness and the subscriber from the old blog and can say so badly whether something has changed, but felt the numbers have remained the same and that comes again and again someone to the block even by e-mail subscribed.

What about the random visitors who come to the videos or on the blog via the search of Google or YouTube since I have to say that has increased over time, I see again and again that certain topics or certain keywords at least the block are searched again and again also comes over Pinterest more and more visitors on the blog, at YouTube it is still the topics that run best that have to do with GMX or the disability card but also there are sometimes a few people who search for certain topics and so come to my videos.

The average stay in my block is 90 seconds okay, if I think that it takes 34 minutes to read the texts, then 90 seconds is not necessarily long, but the same is true with YouTube the videos are only watched for a maximum of five minutes out of 20, since the title is probably more promising than the actual video.

Unfortunately, I lack the comparison possibilities there to say whether this is normal or much or little of the dwell time or as the watch time is so nicely said, I also do not talk to other producers about this topic, because everyone classifies and explains this differently for themselves.

Since the first video I had the possibility built in on Patreon or via PayPal to send me small amounts or a donation this has not actually changed, I still offer this option, I do not even apply for it large, in the blog there are two small links in the sidebar and in the videos at the bottom of the video description these two links are noted, which nobody has ever been lost on so far, so there has not been a single donor neither via Patreon nor via PayPal.

This is also not so relevant anymore because I was able to drastically send the costs for the operation of the blog or the podcast, since I have now found a very cheap provider and can save space by skilfully storing the media files.

I think the running costs of 1 to 2 € per month, are more than acceptable unsustainable for a hobby project and it is not necessarily dependent on any donations, because the purchase of new hardware is still particularly cost-intensive and would provide there one or the other donation but for relief thank God, there is the used market and there the required hardware at affordable prices, so that this topic is also not necessarily so important that I am dependent on donors and alms.

How satisfied am I with all this development?

For me, that's perfectly okay, because it's not a profit achievement endeavor behind it, but a pure hobby project a leisure activity or in other words an employment in general such a site such a complex network on different sites requires a certain maintenance and also the technology or the software behind the video production and the block as well as the podcast also needs a time and so I can use my time, which I have plenty of at least now and then meaningfully.

It's the case that if I didn't write texts for a blog or sit in front of the camera or squat from the microphone and make my recordings there or take care that I make the preparation for it, I would only sit off the TV in the best case and watch the dullness that is offered to me there all day or I would watch some things from the Internet.

I prefer not to be able to deal with an area that I like, but also again and again, what interesting experiences and can live out creatively for me by the way, a very important thing that I will tackle now more and more in the future and again then sit dull from the TV and do nothing is not for me in the long run.

Do I need success on the Internet?

No, I don't need it, I prefer it, I have a handful of regular readers and spectators or listeners who like to leave a comment or a like like like like many, who consume everything only half-heartedly and then pretend to me how great this is.

Where else can I get my confirmation?

The funny thing is that I am currently submitting a lot of contributions to NRW Vision and get editorial feedback there, which is now so positive that it is rather unusual for me and difficult to understand, which I actually expected that what I do does not necessarily meet the requirements of a TV station or radio station, but the reviews speak a different language.

So I get a positive feedback from professional media makers and that does more than good, because there are no friends who tell me, almost fancy, wow that's great, what you do. No, they are professionals, professionals who have learned how to entertain others and offer interesting contributions and then a positive feedback is more than gratifying or edifying.

How's that with you guys? Because they also make media, because they also create films, blogs, podcasts How important is the success of your projects or that they arrive?
