Go shopping: Something that is totally normal or that each of us will probably do once a week. How this is with me now, I will explain to you here.
I used to go to town twice a week. That was 10 minutes walk and then I walked back with 6 bottles of drink and a big bag with my purchases. Then I carried it all up to the 3rd floor – old building and I was at home.
Today I have a 4-letter discounter in front of the door. Almost opposite and it took me 20 minutes to stand in the shop alone – not because the road was so long or because I was so slow, no, that was the traffic that was so strong that I couldn’t walk through one with my walking disability and I will never ever stop in the middle when the cars in front and behind me pass by at more than 50 km/h.
Arrived at the store, I got everything and then came the way back. Actually the same game, only with my bag I was more than handicapped and so much slower and I stood there for another 30 minutes …
At some point, an older driver left me because he stopped. When I was in the house, I was so k.o that I rested there for another 20 minutes before I went up. So I was shopping for a good 90 minutes for a purchase that would have taken 20 minutes if I could walk normally.
The fact that running and shopping is very strenuous is not the topic now. It's about having to wait on a street until I could walk over, that I almost couldn't stand anymore. Only why is that so?
Now you could say: ‘Okay, Sascha. You're too fat, you lose weight and that's easier.” Yes, that's true. That will be the case, but that's not the problem, because I used to be fat and did it. Okay, after a stroke, you can't walk properly anymore. Yes, this is also true that all this is no longer going so well and I still have to work out a lot so that I have fewer problems.
The problem is that for 20 years a bypass road is to be built and the residents sit in the beautiful, green edge area, because there is no traffic and it rolls every day through the city from north to south and later vice versa. Having repeatedly successfully resisted this bypass, construction has already begun and in the middle of the construction phase that everything will be discontinued because it has been sued successfully.
It is always said that Waltrop is a very beautiful and green city. And that's how it's supposed to stay. When the company BMW wanted to settle in the fields between Waltrop and Datteln, this was successfully prevented, because the fields of former times, where shit from Dortmund was distributed, are so worthy of protection. The newly built power plant in Datteln on the border with Waltrop has been finished for 5 years, but is not allowed to be connected to the grid, as Waltrop citizens successfully complain about it.
As you can see, Waltrop is a beautiful, green city, only without work and so everyone goes home to work in the morning and in the afternoon, and since there is no work here, everything you need to live, except food, is no longer available in Waltrop and then you have to go outside again to shop.
Waltrop is a green city with a great traffic problem. All homemade. We don't need a bypass.
