How's Timer, my dad's cat?

‘Happy owner, happy cat. Indifferent owner, lone cat.’
Proverb from China

Now Timer is here well over two months and arrives here slowly as she is a very anxious cat. I knew it would take time.

After my father's move last year, Timer also needed about seven weeks until she had moved freely in the apartment and there she lived only with my father, or with the visit that came from time to time.

There were (or still are) three or two other cats. A cat and a cat lady. Both are very anxious and therefore jealous.

Ok, the Sita is like all other cat ladies, more so the left from the ambush, but also very thoughtful and careful. Only her brother Öte, where everyone thinks, who doesn't do what, who is, this time the one who has to make it clear every time, I'm number one. Interestingly, there is also jealousy in animals.

So Timer is a little scared and is very careful in what she does and if someone wants to eat her, she becomes a big cat and I've never experienced that before.

At the moment she always comes back when I write on the PC, and then wants to have her attention. Sure, the others do, even Fuxi, when he was still alive, came to me again and again and not only to show me: ‘Listen, I have cabbage steam!’, because the little ones are also very good at that.

It is often the case that one cat sits on the left on the table and the other on the right on a free chair. Timer arrives again and again and wants to be close, but she does not dare to leave the study completely, because this is the place where she has sought her hiding place.

At night, when everyone else is lying with me to sleep, I hear them walking around. So everything is normal, I think to myself and it will be, because when I think about how Fuxi Amy met at that time. …

Fuxi was like a timer. Always used to living with people. He had to learn how great it is to have a cat mate and so they chased each other and played together. Yes, after he had screwed up my apartment for days with diarrhea – every time he had seen Amy.

Fortunately, Timer doesn't have this problem. Only she is far more anxious and cautious as Fuxi was and so I think we just need a lot of time.

Do you know that, have you ever put strange cats together? If so, what was your experience?

Your Sasha

  1. Dear Sasha
We're in the middle of a cat disaster right now. We have an 8 year old cat lady (Else Kling) and are three weeks still a small plug. We imagined the whole thing a little easier, but our Else doesn't quite go along with it. At the moment she's moved into the basement with sack and pack, just away from whatever that is … She roars like a skewer when she sees the little one, and I swear I've never seen her run sooo fast … I think I suffer more because I always think. Was that right what we did, but we said a, so we'll say b, too. Patience Patience Patience. And we hope everything will be fine.. You also succeed well..

    1. I can understand your concerns well. after I had now 2 times cats together thought that this time it would be so easy at least they do nothing bad to themselves.

I wish you a lot of luck and good luck that the two cats get along.
